How “Get an Eric” Started

Before Get an Eric, LLC existed, founder Eric Marie was running a successful handyman business in Chicago under the name The Handy Frenchman. While working with a large national vacation rental company, one of their building managers recommended his work by saying:

“You need to get an Eric.”

That phrase stuck. What started as a referral quickly became a brand.

As demand grew, Eric expanded the business beyond basic handyman services, adding a painting team, licensed plumbers, and certified electricians to support larger renovation and remodeling projects. Get an Eric, LLC was officially launched to serve homeowners and property managers who wanted reliable professionals they could trust.

From Handyman Work to Full Renovations

Today, Get an Eric, LLC focuses primarily on home renovations and remodeling, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and whole-home projects. Our handyman services remain available for smaller repairs and maintenance tasks, but renovations are the core of what we do.
